Palm Island is a 7 by 1/2 mile barrier island located about half way between Fort Myers and Sarasota. There are no roads or bridges connecting the mainland to the island so you'll have the adventure of riding the 5-minute car ferry from the mainland to the island. Because of this, the island and beach are never crowded. 7 miles of sandy beach are only a 3-minute stroll away. Swim in the clear Gulf waters, collect sea shells, or just lay back and work on your tan. There are no crowds here, just miles of natural Florida with world renowned shelling, fantastic sunsets, bird watching, kayaking right out the back door, dolphins, gopher tortoise, and a lagoon where fish jump all day long. Don Pedro State park is a short walk down the beach. Golf carts, the most popular means of transportation on the island, are available for rental at several nearby places which will deliver the cart to you on the island. Boats, kayaks, and jet skis can also be rented nearby.

Like to fish? Fish right off your private dock or try your luck surf fishing or try a charter with one of the local guides for a thrilling day of deep water Gulf or backwater fishing. Tarpon, Grouper, Snapper, Redfish, Snook, and Trout are just a few of the many local species. This Key West style home is located on Bocilla Bay with direct access to the Intracoastal and the Gulf of Mexico. The house has a private dock. The home is well equipped with most everything you'll need.
